2 – 5pm Glider Trial Flights
Experience the thrill of soaring above Taupo and Mt Tauhara in a state-of-the-art glider from Taupo Gliding Club. Thrill seekers may want to take the aerobatic option.
   
  Warbird flights
For a ride of a lifetime, strap into an original and feel the roar of the engines as you climb into the skies in a 1930s DH Dragon, or join the NZ Warbirds and have the opportunity to share the cost of a flight in a DH Dominie, Harvard, Tiger Moth, Chipmunk, P40 Kittyhawk, or Yak 52. Strictly limited seats, 2pm - 5pm. Bookings and costs are available at the Information Tent.
   
  Aircraft Displays and tours
Throughout the afternoon, check out the display airplanes as they start, take off, taxi and land. Get up close to some of the amazing aircraft on display on the airfield with a tour by the pilot. Tours can be booked at the Information Tent. Strictly limited places available so book early.
   
3.15pm RC Aircraft display
Radio controlled model aircraft and helicopter from Taupo Model Flyers will entertain and amaze with their size, detail and flying accuracy.
   
2 – 4.30pm Kids Activities
The Great Paper Plane Challenge will be held at the 4.30pm on stage. Design, build and fly your own flying machine Prizes for the Best Looker, Most Original, Longest Cross-country Flight, and most acrobatic.
   
From 2pm Segways
Test your navigational skills on the unique two wheeled Segway.
   
  Vintage & Classic car display
See some of the magnificent machines of yesteryear on display.
   
  YouthTown Rescue Helicopter
The YouthTown Rescue Helicopter is an essential service for the Taupo region and community. The specially equipped ‘Squirrel’ helicopter is on display.
   
  Wine and Food
Sample the wine and food available from stalls on site

4.45 – 5pm Wairakei Terraces kapahaka
   
5.15 – 6pm Great Lake Big Band
   
FLYING TO MUSIC
   
  Over 30 airplanes fly to the music of the Great Lake Big Band and the Central Band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.
   
6pm Parachute Drop
Skydivers drop from sky in an opening display of breathtaking skill.
   
6.05pm Gyrocopter
A unique flying machine, the gyrocopter, shows the ingenuity of mans quest to fly.
   
6.20pm Glider Display
Jantar Standard and PW5 gliders from the Taupo Gliding Club soar in a graceful, looping display of silent aerobatics from 4000ft and water runs at speeds of up to 150 knots.
   
6.30pm Russian Yak 52s
A team of six Yak 52s fly in spectacular formation display of colour, noise, and precision aerobatics.
   
6.48pm DH82 Tigermoth
A heartstopping display as a daring wing walker rides on top of a Tigermoth.
   
6.58pm British Classics - Dragon, Dominic, Proctor
A flypast of airliners and training aircraft from between the great wars will recall the grace of that era.
   
7.12pm Ryan
Two Ryans take to the air for a display from these purpose-built trainers of yesteryear.
   
7.20pm North American Harvards
Spectacular aerobatics from two Harvards with the distinctive roar of the propeller tips breaking the sound barrier.
   
7.30pm DH82 Tigermoth
This bi-plane of yesteryear takes to the air for an aerobatic sequence that defies its vintage.
   
7.45pm MXT Display
The brand new MXT is a specialist aeroplane that flies unlimited aerobatics in a gravity-defying display.
   
8.05pm P40N Kittyhawk
This Second World War veteran shows its dogfighting abilities.
   
8.15pm RNZAF Red Checkers
Formation aerobatic flying by the Red Checkers demonstrating the professionalism and teamwork of the RNZAF. Formation loops and barrel rolls with aircraft within 6ft of each other, hi speed opposing passes that will wow, surprise and amaze; and tail chasing that is spectacular. This comprised with a sunset as a backdrop will be an awesome combination.
   
PROMS CONCERT
   
8.45pm - 10pm Central Band of Royal New Zealand Air Force
An entertaining proms concert from the 65-member from the RNZAF’s symphonic concert band, with special guest singers.
   
FIREWORKS
   
10pm An explosive fireworks spectacular
